Companion planting
Companion planting is the practice of pairing crops for mutual benefit — the classic trio of corn, beans, and squash, or radishes sown with carrots to mark rows. Evidence is strongest for physical pairings (tall crops as shade, flowers attracting pollinators) and weakest for the folkloric tables; treat the strong claims with a gardener's skepticism.
