Half-hardy plants
Half-hardy plants tolerate light frost (to about 29–32°F) but not hard freezes: lettuce, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, beets. They go out earlier than tender crops and linger into fall — the shoulder-season workhorses of the vegetable garden.
