Transplanting
Transplanting moves a started seedling outdoors — home-started or bought. Long-season crops (tomatoes, peppers, onions) need the head start to mature in shorter seasons. The rule of thumb is 1–2 weeks after the last frost for tender transplants, once soil has warmed; hardening off comes first.
